Matthias Bopp is the new CEO of Micronas (PR0916)
Zurich, December 11, 2009 - Matthias Bopp will lead Micronas (SIX Swiss Exchange: MASN) as new CEO beginning January 1, 2010. As a proven specialist with great management experience and excellent knowledge of both the semiconductor sector and the automotive market, Matthias Bopp will further develop Micronas' automotive strategy.
Micronas had announced on September 17 and November 27, 2009, that Matthias Bopp (45) will take over from Dr. Wolfgang Kalsbach as at February 1, 2010 at the latest. Now, it has been confirmed that Mr. Bopp will already start with Micronas on January 1, 2010.
Matthias Bopp, who studied electrical engineering at the University of Kaiserslautern, has worked in the semiconductor industry for more than 15 years. Not only does he have wide experience in the design and development of semiconductors, but he is also experienced in the automotive industry. Most recently he managed the Radio Frequency and Automotive Division of NASDAQ-quoted semiconductor company Atmel in Germany.
