Micronas achieves excellent margin despite Japan crisis and euro weakness (PR1204)

Micronas can look back on a successful 2011 financial year. “Although the crisis in Japan hit the Company hard owing to the high proportion of sales Micronas generates in this region, and despite the negative impact on sales due to the euro’s weakness, we are proud to have once again – like last year – achieved a double-digit EBIT margin”, says Micronas CEO Matthias Bopp.

Micronas responds to Chapter 11 filing by Trident Microsystems (PR1201)

Micronas had already decided in the fourth quarter of 2011 to sell its Trident shares because of Trident’s business performance. Micronas originally acquired the shares in 2009 when it sold some of its Consumer product lines. This sale of Trident shares was completed in the fourth quarter, so at the end of 2011 Micronas no longer had an interest in Trident Microsystems.

Micronas reports healthy incoming orders in third quarter (PR1109)

Micronas Group's consolidated net sales (Automotive and Consumer) in the third quarter came to CHF 35.5 million, and in the first nine months of 2011 to CHF 115.2 million, compared with CHF 145.2 million in the first nine months of 2010. This decline is due mainly to the discontinuation of sales of Consumer products and dashboard controllers.

Following the successful refocusing of Micronas on the Automotive and Industrial sectors last year, 2011 has also been dominated by the transition and the resulting streamlining of the Company’s product portfolio. The consolidated net sales for the Micronas Group (Automotive and Consumer) amounted to CHF 41.4 million for the first quarter of 2011 (CHF 45.1 million for the fourth quarter of 2010). Micronas Group's operating profit (EBIT) reached CHF 5.7 million in the first quarter (CHF 8.7 million in the fourth quarter of 2010), equalling an EBIT margin of 13.7 percent of sales.

Micronas showcases system solution for brushless DC motor control applications (PR1102)

Micronas (SIX Swiss Exchange: MASN) today announced that it will showcase an enhanced system solution for brushless DC motor (BLDC) drive applications. The system solution comprises the Micronas embedded microcontroller HVC 2480B, a flash-based 8-bit microcontroller which can directly be connected to 12V supplies, equipped with a built-in three-phase driver for small BLDC motors.
