Micronas Wins Prestigious Samsung Best Supplier Award (0107)
SEOUL, Korea - April 4, 2001- Micronas announced they were presented Samsung's prestigious Award of Contribution at the annual Samsung Visual Media Division meeting. The Award of Contribution is presented in recognition of on-time and reliable delivery of audio and video ICs for Samsung Television Sets. Samsung presents the award annually to their best supplier and cooperative partner.

Digital signal processing (DSP) is Micronas' core competency. The DSP-based ICs for consumer applications such as TV and audio systems are highly integrated mixed-signal CMOS chips based on a platform concept, which allows low cost production of application-specific derivates (types) with only minimal changes to the production process. Micronas' ability to quickly switch the manufacturing process to different types of audio and video ICs decreases time-to-market for TV manufacturers. Both these issues, low cost and fast time-to-market, are essential in today's consumer electronics market.
